Awoke to rain and unsettled weather....and since we didn't have far to go today we went up to Pikes Peak State Park to check out the views of the Mississippi. Luckily the rain stopped for a few hours and we were able to go for a short hike and enjoy the views. Luckily for Gracie they welcome dogs in the State Park.

I love driving through some of these small towns.....there is always something different to see...

On to La Crosse, Wisconsin, beautiful city along the great Mississippi River.

Well spoken....

Who says you can't have a garden in the city!

Still corn and soyabeans...

We found a City RV Park in Lanesboro Minnesota....so close to town it's awesome. This area of the state is great for bike riding...they have several paved bike paths that go for 50 -60 miles and connect all the little towns with B & B's and hotels etc. Really well done.

Road our bikes 5 miles down the bike path to a little town with the most awesome Apple Pie....but we were too late...all closed up :(
Whalen....Home of the Standstill Parade...the Parade doesn't move...the Spectators do...

Saw this cool ol' truck...it was from California and the guy was super excited to take pics of his truck in front of this old gas station...

Lanesboro is one of the few little towns here that seem to be making it.
There is a huge bike shop, lots of stores and restaurants and B & Bs.

Walked back to town later for flatbread and beer at this little pub that has live music on the weekends.  Nice little place and yummy flatbread.

.....finish off the night watching fireflies........my kinda night!
