Today was our day to go to Savannah....the weather is mixed.
Joe rode his bike in and we met him in town later.

It had started to spit a bit when we first arrived but figured how bad could it get???

Apparently BAD!!! It rained so hard it was crazy....and yes...we got soaked...
luckily it's warm so it wasn't too bad...

They have this 30 or so acre park that is long and narrow and runs through town.
There are fountains and benches and statues all over the place.

Still soaked here...took a few hours to dry off!

The buildings are all just so beautiful and old and amazing looking...
it just goes on and on...

And then more parks...it's really nice the way they are mingled throughout the downtown area.

And oh so many churches...

Then we finally happened upon the Waterfront area...with brick and cobblestone walls and roads...
The Brick walls and embankments were built back in 1840 to protect against the erosion that was happening on the waterfront and to allow access to the area....now so many years later it's a gathering place for many.

And this is the busiest Port in the USA...always so much to see....these things are just SO BIG!!!

We headed back uptown to try to find a Bar with some music and happened upon a mini-car show.

Is this not the brightest car you have seen??

Oh these are words to live by!!!

Can't seem to get enough pics of these homes and buildings....

And this big fat kitty....apparently....nobody really knows who owns her....maybe many people by the looks of how chubby she is!!! oh my...
