I guess when you are on holidays for an extended time....the chore days must happen sometimes....and again today....after much searching for the TV antenna we lost...today they must put it on...in the Florida sunshine!!!


After much waiting...it was Gracie's turn to get to the Beach. There are a few beaches now that allow dogs on leash...not too many...so we drove further to the off-leash dog beach....we probably shouldn't have wasted the time....and we must remember most off-leash dog beaches are usually full of very large dogs....some pit-bullish type (yes...I am fearful of Gracie being attacked by a dog)....and after hearing a dog fight...followed by a people fight....along comes ?????...

yes a female pit bull....
whose owner appears to have no control over this dog at all...
who George meets first and says is friendly...fair enough......
until this dog decides it really wants to check out Gracie...
by towering over her from behind in a very dominant position..
Gracie now becoming vocal in telling this pittie to back off....
freaking us both out....and out comes the leash...
We are outta there!!!


After a walk to try to dry her off a bit....back in the truck to check out the area a little more...


The bugs here must get bad at some point because many of these homes have their entire front or back yards screened in!!

And just water everywhere you look.


The waterways here are really crazy...when you look at the GPS of the area...
where there is a street of homes...there is a connecting inter-coastal waterway.  There are a few boat launches here and there...not too many...I guess this is how they allow more people freedom to enjoy the water here...

We stopped at a Marina....we are still searching for manatees....


No manatees....
but we were told there are 4 or 5 that come here in the morning....
so another day of no manatees....

but we did see some really large Tarpon waiting for handouts from the fish gutting station.

    How did George and Joe get up on the roof? They didn't climb up on that ladder on the back of the trailer did they? Ha ha
    And what's with Gracie... she looks sad. She is probably just missing her boy Jackson. Stay away from the pit bulls Gracie.

    Yup, up the ladder they had to go. Gracie is missing Jackson and swimming in real water...

It's been windy for quite some time....like weeks...this morning it's pretty calm...but they are calling for more wind in the afternoon..... Decided to ride our bikes into St. George and check it out...really small casual little beach city... More white sandy beaches....this time with lots of shells...spent a good hour shell hunting... We saw lots of crab holes in the ground...apparently they are called "ghost crabs" and they only come out at night and they are almost transparent.. I was so excited when I spotted this shell.....but somebody was inside... and this baby crab on the outside!!! They have these really cute "tiny narrow rental homes".... these are the first skinny homes we have seen!! Saw dolphins in the distance for the first time today....super excited....George has to "make me move one" ....because I could stay all day and watch them... Today is the day....we must leave New York....it`s been great... it`s been expensive....and it`s time to go... Gracie may have wanted to visit this place...but no Dog Spa for her... Today is also the day we will part paths with Brother Joe...we will head West....because we must....he will have another direction...we will miss him....has been a great time travelling with him. It took us almost an hour to wind our way out of Jersey City...it was raining...and I swear Roxanne had us going in circles....there was detour after detour...and some ridiculously narrow streets.....but we made it......we had no idea where we were...the skies were grey and dismal and we just seemed to be going around and around..... And then this crazy horrible sign appeared...WTF....WEST!!! What is that!!!! It wasn`t long before we left the busy streets for rolling hill of trees...it is just so green and so hilly.... I love this one...it`s the first we have ever seen...... ...

It's a pretty fitting day to leave the beach...it's raining....it's still warm...but it's still raining.... Taking a ferry today instead of dealing with the traffic...won't take any time off our trip...but will take the miles off our trip...cost wise...not too sure...but if it can eliminate a few hours on the road in the city...it's worth it. This bird decided to build a nest in the busiest place ever!!! Right at the Ferry Terminal... And all along the way....Dophins.....Yay!! I will never tire of seeing them playing in the water! So before long we are on the New Jersey Turnpike.... which just means .....toll....after toll.....after toll.... and you have no idea which lane you are supposed to be in... Nightmare! Marty!!!.... You will love this....... You know all those American dimes and nickels I was saving.... Finally had a chance to use them.... Oh the look on his face when I gave him $6.00 in dimes and nickels!!!
