It's cold here in the desert in the evening....there were several vehicles that pulled in last night...slept in their vehicles....and gone early....brrrrr! Not for us!!!

Backtracked to Las Cruces New Mexico to head towards Texas. Somebody is sleepy...


Driving through El Paso Texas....the Mexican border feels like an arms-reach away....On the left of the Highway the buildings are beautiful....on the right....small....but colourful!! No wall here just a very tall fence....guarded by the Border Patrol I am sure.

Crazy fact we learned today.....1,370 Mexicans are caught or turned away for trying to enter the USA either illegally or without proper paperwork at the Border Crossings  EACH DAY!!! (since Trump it has gone down 40%)....guess these Border Patrol guys are doing their jobs!!


The city is so big...it just goes on and on and on
....busy...busy...busy....

Just outside of town there was some sort of Biker Gathering....and lots of Patrol cars...




Then miles and miles of Texas scrub...Cheap Texas land if anyone is interested???




As we got closer to the USA and Mexico border we saw our second "Border Patrol Blimp" on our trip....this time the closest we had gotten to one.

....then more miles of Texas scrub....off the 1-10 Highway now.....
back-country roads to small-town America..


Another hour or so and we happened into a small town called Marfa, Texas.  Looked like the typical small town America....many closed up homes/stores...then we look down this one road!! STOP!!!!
Turns out this "little old town" was established in 1883 as a water stop and freight headquarters for the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway.





Trying to find a place to have lunch....but apparently we missed lunch and it's Happy Hour everywhere...great for drinks...but not for food.  I think it's that "cleanup/prep time" for these places in between lunch and dinner....so...not enough to "treat the Hangry feeling" the guy's are feeling....so we hit of all places "Dairy Queen" for .....tacos!!!

Back on the road a bit....through "Rabbit Massacre land"......(I kept my eyes closed for much of the drive).....it's bad!!

We found a place to RV for free again....it's a Roadside viewing for the "Mysterious Marfa Lights".

People came....50 or 60 in all....

Sunset came....



We waited....and waited....and waited......We saw lights in the distance...some thought they were the Marfa Lights....to most...just Dimming White Lights in the distance....apparently the actually Marfa Lights only come about 30 or so times a year....yes a year.!!!....They say come with an open mind....maybe they will come...maybe they will not....Well for us....No Marfa Nights...just a quiet nights sleep in a free campsite....and a very very dark starry night!

It's been windy for quite some time....like weeks...this morning it's pretty calm...but they are calling for more wind in the afternoon..... Decided to ride our bikes into St. George and check it out...really small casual little beach city... More white sandy beaches....this time with lots of shells...spent a good hour shell hunting... We saw lots of crab holes in the ground...apparently they are called "ghost crabs" and they only come out at night and they are almost transparent.. I was so excited when I spotted this shell.....but somebody was inside... and this baby crab on the outside!!! They have these really cute "tiny narrow rental homes".... these are the first skinny homes we have seen!! Saw dolphins in the distance for the first time today....super excited....George has to "make me move one" ....because I could stay all day and watch them... Biked out on the fishing bridge....this one goes out qui...

Today is the day....we must leave New York....it`s been great... it`s been expensive....and it`s time to go... Gracie may have wanted to visit this place...but no Dog Spa for her... Today is also the day we will part paths with Brother Joe...we will head West....because we must....he will have another direction...we will miss him....has been a great time travelling with him. It took us almost an hour to wind our way out of Jersey City...it was raining...and I swear Roxanne had us going in circles....there was detour after detour...and some ridiculously narrow streets.....but we made it......we had no idea where we were...the skies were grey and dismal and we just seemed to be going around and around..... And then this crazy horrible sign appeared...WTF....WEST!!! What is that!!!! It wasn`t long before we left the busy streets for rolling hill of trees...it is just so green and so hilly.... I love this one...it`s the first we have ever seen...... ...

It's a pretty fitting day to leave the beach...it's raining....it's still warm...but it's still raining.... Taking a ferry today instead of dealing with the traffic...won't take any time off our trip...but will take the miles off our trip...cost wise...not too sure...but if it can eliminate a few hours on the road in the city...it's worth it. This bird decided to build a nest in the busiest place ever!!! Right at the Ferry Terminal... And all along the way....Dophins.....Yay!! I will never tire of seeing them playing in the water! So before long we are on the New Jersey Turnpike.... which just means .....toll....after toll.....after toll.... and you have no idea which lane you are supposed to be in... Nightmare! Marty!!!.... You will love this....... You know all those American dimes and nickels I was saving.... Finally had a chance to use them.... Oh the look on his face when I gave him $6.00 in dimes and nickels!!! W...
