Today is the day we will wear shorts if it kills us.... we awoke to sunshine but it was still pretty cool....needed the furnace to take the chill out of the RV.

Somebody did not want to get out of bed...Lazy Lazy Poogle!!


Didn't quite make our 8:00 am departure...we were pretty close but not before a quick breakfast for everyone...including the mooch!!  She would eat her weight in 10 seconds flat!!!



Pretty happy to be leaving the City behind and seeing something other than the I-5, this must be Orange Country because we did see lots of Orange Groves along the roadway.


Rollings hills turned into a pretty good climb East leaving the Orange Groves behind us.....



Wasn't long before we left the rolling hills to miles and miles of Wind Farms and then just a plateau of scrub....the Mojave Desert...we didn't see anything living...3 crows and not even "roadkill". 



Now it's hard to tell here, but that fence (which is on both sides of the road for miles and miles) is about 1 1/2 feet tall???? We cannot figure out what that would be stopping??

In any case, stopped for a very late but great breakfast and then descended down into the Palm Springs area...


Then back to ......more traffic...and more traffic...5 or 6 lanes in standard....
George takes it all in stride...I just close my eyes!!
 ...and both Joe and George dodged a "Hose Reel" in the middle of the freeway!!! Thank god they are both awesome drivers...and after that excitement...

And we finally arrived into Palm Springs to a most wonderful 26 degrees....ahhh... and a great deal at $27.50 a night...have to love Passport America!!!


Somebody else loves the heat!!! Don't worry, she's still alive!

And George is a HAPPY man!!!! Sunshine and a Beer in hand!!! He drove a long way for this!!

It's been windy for quite some time....like weeks...this morning it's pretty calm...but they are calling for more wind in the afternoon..... Decided to ride our bikes into St. George and check it out...really small casual little beach city... More white sandy beaches....this time with lots of shells...spent a good hour shell hunting... We saw lots of crab holes in the ground...apparently they are called "ghost crabs" and they only come out at night and they are almost transparent.. I was so excited when I spotted this shell.....but somebody was inside... and this baby crab on the outside!!! They have these really cute "tiny narrow rental homes".... these are the first skinny homes we have seen!! Saw dolphins in the distance for the first time today....super excited....George has to "make me move one" ....because I could stay all day and watch them... Biked out on the fishing bridge....this one goes out qui...

Today is the day....we must leave New York....it`s been great... it`s been expensive....and it`s time to go... Gracie may have wanted to visit this place...but no Dog Spa for her... Today is also the day we will part paths with Brother Joe...we will head West....because we must....he will have another direction...we will miss him....has been a great time travelling with him. It took us almost an hour to wind our way out of Jersey City...it was raining...and I swear Roxanne had us going in circles....there was detour after detour...and some ridiculously narrow streets.....but we made it......we had no idea where we were...the skies were grey and dismal and we just seemed to be going around and around..... And then this crazy horrible sign appeared...WTF....WEST!!! What is that!!!! It wasn`t long before we left the busy streets for rolling hill of trees...it is just so green and so hilly.... I love this one...it`s the first we have ever seen...... ...

It's a pretty fitting day to leave the beach...it's raining....it's still warm...but it's still raining.... Taking a ferry today instead of dealing with the traffic...won't take any time off our trip...but will take the miles off our trip...cost wise...not too sure...but if it can eliminate a few hours on the road in the city...it's worth it. This bird decided to build a nest in the busiest place ever!!! Right at the Ferry Terminal... And all along the way....Dophins.....Yay!! I will never tire of seeing them playing in the water! So before long we are on the New Jersey Turnpike.... which just means .....toll....after toll.....after toll.... and you have no idea which lane you are supposed to be in... Nightmare! Marty!!!.... You will love this....... You know all those American dimes and nickels I was saving.... Finally had a chance to use them.... Oh the look on his face when I gave him $6.00 in dimes and nickels!!!
